About Me

Hello there!  My name is Erin and I am a 25 year old aspiring math teacher, self-proclaimed expert baker and cook, and beginner DIY-er.  I went to UVA and slaved through an engineering degree only to work for a couple of years and realize what I really wanted to do was teach.   I fell in love with blogging while planning my wedding and in the time afterward when I realized I had quite my job and had a minor freak out about what to do next.  My husband, Michael, and I are newlyweds but we dated for over 8 years before tying the knot.  Since we are currently learning to live on a budget, we have become pretty thrifty in creating things for our home that we did not have the money to spend on and we love it!  We currently rent a townhouse in Fredericksburg, VA so while we cannot make too many permanent changes, we have come up with some fun temporary projects to make it feel more like our own.

We have a yellow lab, Sadie...and yes I named my blog after her - I don't claim to be creative on my own.  She is basically my second favorite thing person ever - next to Michael - so I felt she deserved some recognition.  I love dogs and I hope someday to own multiple and perhaps become a breeder...but that is another dream for another time, Michael has informed me I am only allowed to live out one life altering dream at a time :)
